Charity Closure Announcement

It is with great sadness that we must now let you know that we have taken the difficult decision to close Lotus Flower Trust as of the 31st December this year.

The current economic conditions caused by Covid, the Ukraine war and the recent recession, have made it extremely difficult to raise funds here in the UK for our work with disadvantaged and underprivileged communities, particularly children, in India.

John will, however, continue to work in a personal capacity, supporting our projects and the people involved in them in Ladakh, Uttrakhand, Gujarat, Assam, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

If you would like to help him in any way, including funding projects, please contact him on 01425 650 493 or through email at johnhuntnfo@outlook.com and continue to follow him on the social channel links at the bottom of this newsletter. 92 Projects Completed in 14 Years

Lotus Flower Trust has been far more successful than we ever could have dreamed. In 14 years we have funded 53 projects in Ladakh, 24 in Uttrakhand and 7 in other remote parts of India - a total of 84 with 8 more to be completed in 2023 using the charity's remaining funds. This will mean a final total of 92 projects. Perhaps John will be able to complete 8 more to get the figure to 100! But he will need financial support for that...

Although Lotus Flower Trust is a small charity, we have made a great impact. It is very difficult to calculate the numbers of children and adults we have helped but it must now be more than 30,000 lives changed forever. Despite the sadness of closing, we have a great deal to be proud of.

Thank you for Changing Lives

We tend to forget we work in some of the most remote and environmentally hostile areas of India, and it is true to say that very few, if any, of our projects, and the opportunities created because of them, would exist had we not helped the communities there.

And of course this would never have been possible without the fantastic support from you, our sponsors, and our friends and colleagues here in the UK and in India. We thank you all for your kindness, but most importantly we thank you on behalf of all the people, both young and old, who have benefited from your support.

From all of us, to all of you, we wish you a Merry Christmas and say again a huge

Thank you – Namaste – Julley!
